What's in a Name?

TalentRooster… We may have picked an unconventional name for our company, but it fits our unconventional technology and how we are trying to transform the hiring process.  Our name may be tricky to remember but our message is quite clear: A better return on talent.

The truth behind the name is that our technology allows candidates to “crow” louder than the rest. When a piece of paper determines a future, who wouldn’t want to be able to stand out among everyone else? There are only so many different ways to describe being a hard worker so our technology allows a candidate’s personality to be seen, something which can’t be transcribed onto paper.

As hiring managers, receiving resumes via job postings leads to a large stack of papers with scribbled notes like “good work history” or “seems personable on the phone” but after a week or two has passed, you’re left unable to distinguish your candidates from one another. Letting your talent “crow” leaves you with an online database of videos to help you put a face to the name and insures that you interview the candidates that would be the best fit for your company. Not everyone can have a name as unique as TalentRooster that stands out in your mind but each candidate is indeed unique.

Building new features with YOUR business in mind

Many of us started the year off by making resolutions in an attempt to change ourselves for the better. Now that it’s mid-February, hopefully we are still committed! At TalentRooster, we are no different. Ultimately, our resolution is to make YOU better. This quarter we have made our services more customizable to your brand with personalized videos, invites and collateral materials.

Some of our new features include the ability to record the same candidate multiple times without losing any previous videos. Your candidates can have multiple videos that now can be longer than the original 60 seconds. You are no longer limited to the quick 60 second “elevator pitch” and are able to record as much or as little as you desire for each question! Interview questions are also now visible in text, allowing you to choose the answers that YOU want to hear. You can also reach out to multiple candidates with one email and they will now be led to your enhanced landing pages, which feature your company logo, images and messaging in reference to YOUR brand.

It has been a very busy start to the New Year here at TalentRooster but we’ve only just begun! This year our partners can look forward to live streaming interviews, web based recording solutions and mobile applications amongst other new features. So here’s to hoping you stick to your resolutions because we are certainly sticking to ours!

Candidate Records Video With iPhone - Lands Job!

It's happening more and more and we absolutely love it!  A candidate living in Charlotte, North Carolina was moving back to central Ohio.  While conducting her job search, she came upon TalentRooster video interview technology.  She pulled out her iPhone and created this video, which she uploaded to TalentRooster.com.  A recruiter found the video, sent it over to a perfect fit client and a "live" interview was immediately scheduled.  Guess what?  She got the job in record time, all because the video told the hiring manager exactly what he needed to know BEFORE he ever met the candidate!!

Video is smart, green and the future of recruiting!  Contact TalentRooster.com to learn how easy it is to add video to your recruiting process!

"I Look Forward to Meeting You"

You spend hours, days and sometimes weeks preparing your resume and cover letter. Family and friends tell you their thoughts, you read it a million times and finally you send it out to your target employers. You feel relieved and you might even get an auto reply stating "We have received your information and will be in contact soon." That's great, but now the waiting game begins. The thoughts running through your mind are "if only they would meet me, I know they would hire me" or "I would fit in really well there and I know I can learn fast." Well, instead of thinking all of this, why not tell and employer yourself? It seems crazy, maybe a little scary and also...brilliant!

A video interview is something to help you, to show who you are and what you know. We have all had that moment during our job search where we say "I have this great point I would like to make, but I don't know how to put it on my resume" and that's what TalentRooster is here for. We want to help, period. A video interview gives you the perfect amount of time to state your case, show your personality and land that job!

The facts don't lie. We have over 14,000 videos uploaded onto our site, we have signed over 40 companies to use our technology and we continue to hear success stories from recruiters and job seekers.  Increase your chance for hire by 30% or more with a potent video interview, powered by TalentRooster technology.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, but expecting a different result.  If you're still stuck at the fork in the road, we encourage you to choose this route...we will show you the way.

Companies To Pay Candidates for Interviewing??

Politics aside, of all the ridiculous lawsuits I've ever seen this one takes the cake! This pending suit is seeking to require search, recruiting, staffing firms to pay candidates for time spent interviewing! "As California goes, so goes the nation" - let's hope not! Can you imagine the unnecessary expense and headaches that would result from this action? What would follow, a bonus for candidates that don't get the job?

Here's the good news - get on board with video resume technology and avoid this potenial quagmire. Video Resume technology enables you to send clients and prospects professional profiles, that will get your candidates to the front of the hiring line. While the competition continues to send Word documents attached to email, you will blow them away with next generation technology. Your clients will eat it up!

It's 2011, which means we are one year closer to the paper resume becoming obsolete. Job seekers are already on board with video resumes, having posted over 200,000 on YouTube. TalentRooster is preparing to surpass the 5,000 video resume mark within the next couple of weeks. We all know that video will become a vital part of the hiring process - its inevitable. Let TalentRooster show you how to become the leader in your market.

Talent Acquisition Adopting Video Resume Technology

Thanks in part to advancements in technology, more and more recruiters and talent acquisition teams are moving to a platform that incorporates video resume technology. The technology has become so user friendly that virtually anyone with a computer and camera can complete the process (Even Grandma Skypes...).

Progressive companies are taking full advantage of this time saving option, requiring video as part of their applications process. Here's how it works - a candidate goes online to apply for an opening. As part of the process, the candidate is asked to complete a video resume profile by clicking on a link. The candidate completes the process, including answering three specific questions that the company selects. Upon completion, the application is sent directly back to the recruiter / talent acquisition specialist for their review and consideration. Companies are now able to "see and hear" all job candidates before committing to an interview.

Within the next 12-24 months virtually all companies will utilize this technology. Whether a candidate is applying for a retail job at a mall or a Fortune 500 company, video resumes will be part of the process - it just makes sense. Think of it this way - in the next five or ten years, students graduating college will not understand how we ever utilized a piece of paper as a means to represent ourselves! By then video resume technology and links to social media will be so pervasive, a Word document will seem as if it's from Jurassic Park.

Don't let the new hire within your company make you look antiquated. Go to TalentRooster.com and learn how you can bring your company the latest innovation for recruiting talent. It's coming fast - lead the way!

Video Resumes Increase Your Opportunities!

Search, recruiting and staffing firms have had a tough go the past couple of years. They are forced to compete with multiple providers and usually low price is the ultimate "winner". Dawson Resources (based in central Ohio), was tired of fighting this battle and decided to get on board with video resume technology - they wanted a differentiator.

A large call center opened in town and began seeking bids from several providers, multiple providers were selected. The staffing firms were asked to submit candidates, coordinate interviews and follow up with the hiring managers, which is very time consuming and hard to get traction. Dawson Resources submitted their candidates using video resume technology, while the competition is still attaching Word documents to email..... The client loved it and hired multiple candidates immediately! Dawson's candidates are being seen and hired straight from video!

Dawson anticipates filling 90% of the positions before anyone else gets a chance. Better yet, the client has been sending these video resumes throughout the company resulting in more business for Dawson - truly a great success story. Contact TalentRooster to learn how your firm can add this tactical advantage! TalentRooster.com

Setting Yourself Apart

It's no secret that the job market sucks and shows no real signs of improvement. Compounding this challenge is that employers have their "pick of the litter" - oh how job seekers miss the 90's! A friend sent me this great piece that provides some good insight on how a job seeker can stand out and get noticed - PROFESSIONALLY as opposed to standing on a street corner with a sandwich board.... One point of contention with this article - there was NO mention of utilizing video resume technology. Apply the teachings of this article with video technology and you will increase your chances for hire by 50% or more!

Get Busy Living!

For the second time in thirty days, a top CRM firm has written a nice piece about TalentRooster technology and the future of the hiring process - we are truly flattered! Recruiters need to quit worrying about the "what if's" and move forward with their businesses - there is no point in remaining stationary. It's hard to believe, but it's been over a decade since job seekers first began attaching a Word document to an email - that's so 1997! The savvy bird gets the worm....

HR On Board with Video?

If you are every curious as to the future of technology, the people "in the know" are the technology firms that develop and implement for businesses. I've had those conversations and all agree that bandwidth is being increased to accomodate the push for video. Demand is exceptionally high as companies have figured out that in today's world, few people will read but virtually all are willing to watch a video. Granted this piece is satirical, but it makes several solid points that viewers will take away. I've got a very short attention span, but took the time to watch and learn. The same holds true for professional video resumes.

The Awesome Power of Video and Good Writing!

So much has been written about the future of the hiring process and what role video will play. Surfing the net tonight, I stumbled across this piece that I thought was well written and spot on! This blogger feels that video is very powerful and will get you noticed, but must be accompanied by a well written paper resume - I need to direct her to TalentRooster! As this technology becomes more widely accepted, job seekers and hiring managers will recognize that TalentRooster is one of the very few doing it right!

The Warren Buffett of Hiring Trends

There are so many "sources" out there that claim to be in the know when it comes to hiring trends - most don't have any real intel.... I found an exception - a source I've come to know and trust. The guy really does his homework!
